‘Succession’ and ‘The Bear’ lead at the awards with six wins each, with ‘Beef’ and ‘The White Lotus’ among other winners.
The winners of the 75th Emmy Awards have now been announced at a ceremony at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The awards, which were postponed to January 2024 due to the SAG-AFTRA Actors’ strike, saw the drama and comedy categories dominated by Succession and The Bear, with both hit series picking up six awards each.
HBO’s Succession won the ‘Best Drama’ award for the third time, with Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook taking home best actor and actress in a drama series for their respective roles. FX’s The Bear saw similar results with a win for ‘Best Comedy Series’ and ‘Best Actor in a Comedy Series’ for lead Jeremy Allen White. Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri also won awards for best supporting actor and actress.
Other notable wins included Spotlight member Matthew Macfadyen taking home ‘Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series’ for the role of ‘Tom’ in Succession, and Sir Elton John finally earning EGOT status (having won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award) thanks to Elton John: Farewell From Dodger Stadium picking up the ‘Best Variety Special (Live)’ award.
